STAPLE PIECES
Experimenting with the latest trends is always fun when you’re in the process of elevating your style, especially as the seasons come and go- and fall is finally here. But, the weather is still in that “awkward” stage. The days start off chilly in the morning, to warmer as the day goes on, back to cool after sunset. It can be tricky picking an outfit as the season starts, especially if you want to dress comfy and cute, but also be mindful of the time of year.
The answer is simple - stock up on staple wardrobe pieces that can be worn all the time, no matter the weather.
DENIM
Denim is very versatile, and the best type of material to invest in. You can wear denim all year round, in all kinds of colors and silhouettes. A sick all-denim look is my favorite go to outfit when the seasons are changing- it’s effortless, and the kind of look I don’t mind outfit repeating with.
PLEATED PANTS
Pleated pants are super fun and flirty. You can dress it up with a blouse or go more casual with a t-shirt. Depending on the material, pleated pants are a great transition piece from summer to fall. They’re mostly lightweight, and comfortable for all-day wear, and you can wear it almost anytime of year. On a casual day, I’d wear black pleated pants with sneakers, a graphic t-shirt, a crewneck sweater tied at the neck, and a large tote bag since I’m always on the go.
CROPPED JACKETS
Personally, I find cropped jackets to be a wardrobe staple. Some might think anything cropped is a hit or miss. But- if styled the right way, the perfect cropped blazer, or jacket, can be the perfect touch to any outfit. It’s great for the transitioning weather! A “chic” look may be a cropped plaid blazer with a solid long sleeve ribbed top, paired with pleated trousers and chunky boots, or sneakers.
GRAPHIC T-SHIRTS
My favorite go-to piece of clothing will always be a graphic t-shirt, no matter what time of year it is. As the weather goes from hot to cool, pairing a graphic tee with pretty much anything is a simple way to stay comfortable and lookin’ good.
For this type of weather, pairing a graphic t-shirt with an oversized blazer, biker shorts and a pair of tall chunky sole leather boots is trendy and stylish. Also try wearing a graphic t-shirt with pleated pants or jeans, and a cropped jacket!
OVERSIZED JACKETS
If cropped jackets aren’t your thing, try oversized instead. Oversized jackets are really fun to style because it’s the kind of piece that can make most outfits look more put together, whether its a casual or dressy outfit. It can be a solid or with a print; fitted or flowy - either way, oversized jacket are amazing and great for layering.
DETAILS
The easiest kinds of wardrobe essentials to stock up on are your accessories. Jewelry, bags, shoes, scarves, sunglasses- you name it.
My staple jewelry pieces at the moment are my Mejuri Croissant ring, 2 of my favorite Monica Vinader rings and my name plate necklace with an evil eye. I simply cannot leave the house without wearing those pieces. Shop for accessories you know will be timeless and can be worn no matter the occasion or season.
